Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes

One of the largest coastal dune systems in California stretches along the shore west of town. It is home to rare plants, nesting shorebirds, and seasonal wildflowers, and its sweeping, desert-like scenery has drawn filmmakers since the early days of Hollywood. Much of the area is protected, so stay on marked trails and respect closures.
